WHAT IS

AkiVAL

AkiVAL is an annual exhibition by the National University of Singapore's (NUS) Department of Architecture (DoA) and The Architecture Society (TAS). This student-curated event showcases projects from the BA.Arch, B.LA, M.Arch, M.LA, MA.UD and M.UP programmes, celebrating the creative endeavors of our students.

The exhibition features interactive programs and dialogues on architecture and sustainability, fostering meaningful conversations among students, educators, professionals, and the public.

This year's theme, Bridging Eras: Architecture in Transformation explores the evolution of architecture as time passes. Not only do the times change, but so do the buildings that we hold close to our hearts and envision in our futures. In a local context, the intense development that Singapore has undergone the past 60 years is documented through iconic buildings that were constructed in different eras of our city's growth, each standing as a landmark of their own moment in time.

Join us at AkiVAL 2025 to experience the talents of our students, from undergraduate to master's levels. Their works highlight artistic expression, technical skill, and intellectual depth, offering insights into structural principles, contemporary theories, and critical architectural issues. Our architectural dialogues with experienced speakers shed light on related topics of conservation and bridging the gap between generations of architects.

We invite you to celebrate the transformative power of architecture with us at AkiVAL 2025.
